Jiangsu Maysta Chemical Co., Ltd. won a Best Paper Award at the 2024 Polyurethanes Technical Conference held in Atlanta, the United States, for its innovative work "Non-Food Origin Biobased Silicone Surfactants for Polyurethane Applications". Mr. Han Dong, vice president of Maysta Chemical, presented Maysta’s paper and received the award from the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC)on behalf of the company. At the conference, Maysta also had in-depth exchanges with technical experts from BASF, DOW, Covestro, Huntsman, Woodbridge, Kingspan, Wanhua and other enterprises. Maysta’s study on non-food origin biobased silicone surfactants was fully recognized by technical experts and also attracted great attention & interest from them.
The three-day event, which featured 15 technical sessions including more than 70 technical report presentations, attracted nearly 900 professionals from the polyurethane industry around the world.
“We are pleased that Maysta has been honored with the Best Paper Award from CPI," said Mr. Yu Sun, Chairman of the Board of Maysta Chemical. "Silicone surfactants play a critical role in processability & properties of final polyurethanes products. A minor change in the chemical structure of silicone surfactant may have significant impacts on the final properties of polyurethane products. Our scientists have developed a proprietary technology to integrate non-food origin biobased substance into silicone surfactants chemistry. Our novel non-food origin biobased silicone surfactant products can contain up to 55% of renewable bio-carbon content and have comparable performance to conventional petroleum-based surfactants in various polyurethane applications such as rigid foam, flexible foam, molded high resilience foam, etc.. We will take this award as an opportunity to further accelerate research and development of innovative polyurethane additives products to better serve our customers around the world.”
